Introduction to Accounting

Why do you think accounting is seen as boring? Explain.

I think that society has generalized and stigmatized the accounting career a lot, because the first impression that it gives us is precisely boredom. I think boredom is based on the fact that the processes to keep track of the finances of organizations are always the same, it is a system that cannot change because it could have many bad consequences, and also, the accounting career carries a burden. A lot of responsibility both financial, legal, fiscal, and even more, and being a lot of responsibility for a single position, people simply avoid getting involved in accounting issues.

Which of the jobs mentioned would be most interesting for you? Give your reasons.

 Personally, I think that the management accountant is the one that performs the most complex tasks, and implies a challenge, since it is the person who must deliver the final annual reports, in which all the numbers and figures of the company must match the perfection, eradicating the maximum amount of errors and financial leaks from the company. This is the job that is most interesting to me because it takes a lot of passion for numbers, legal, fiscal, financial and mathematical knowledge, and to some extent, a very perfectionist, ethical and committed personality.

Why is it so important for accountants to be ethical? Explain in detail.

Accounting is the management and control of something as important and delicate as money, so people who are ethically built are needed, as well as being honest and firm people in their work activities. Reversing the context, an immoral or unethical person could misappropriate company funds, causing capital flight in a very unfair way.

    I agree with your answers, the issue of money is something very delicate that if it is not handled well it could cause problems for the company.
